Field Research Centres

The Field Research Centres are responsible for coordinating and implementing research and monitoring activities in Wildlife Conservation Areas through innovative and responsive scientific research.

• Savanah, Arid and Semi-Arid Ecosystem Centre in Tsavo. It will have six (6) sub-centres based in Maasai Mara, Meru, Nairobi, Nakuru, Ruma and Marsabit;
• Coastal and Marine Ecosystem Centre in Malindi;
• Montane/Forest Ecosystem Centre in King’ong’o (Nyeri). It will have one (1) sub-centre based in Kitale; and;
• Inland Waters and Wetlands Centre in Naivasha. It will have one (1) sub- centre based in Kisumu.
